LuluLoves

I see and hear so many wonderful things, and I wanted a place to share them all with you. This is that…  it will be anything from shows I’m loving and books I’m reading, to bookish shops and my favorite accounts. I’ll update regularly, and I’d love to hear from you too about things you love.

  • The Dynasty

You don't need to be a fan of football or Tom Brady to find this compelling viewing. At one point I was peeking out from behind a blanket to watch the drama unfold. If there's one take away from it, it's that nothing good comes easy or without a bucket load of hard work and unwavering dedication.

  • Arnold's Pump Club

I've fallen in love with Arnold Schwarzenegger. His newsletter is a daily delight for your inbox filled with lots of happy information. He also has a short (5 mins) daily podcast - a perfect little morning pick me up. If that's not enough, he has a donkey called Lulu.

  • Cowboy Carter

As someone who listened obsessively to Lemonade, I think Beyoncé's new album might be on par. It's a delight for the ears, lots of incredible guest artists including Dolly Parton, Miley Cyrus and Willie Nelson but my favorite has to be Levii's Jeans, the colab with Post Malone.

  • Mare of Easttown

For some reason I'd been putting off watching this show even though it seemed to pop up on Apple every time I switched the TV on. I wish I hadn't. It's absolutely incredible viewing, maybe my favorite thing I've ever seen Kate Winslet in.

  • Taylor Swift

I'm a card carrying Swiftie. Watching her in L.A. last year was incredible and I can't wait to see her in London this summer. I'm counting down the days for TTPD to drop.

  • Autumnal Self Care

I don’t know about you but the seasons changing, and the fluctuating air pressure gets my head feeling all fuzzy. It doesn’t help that I’m on my computer all day, either. But I’ve finally found something that helps keep any headaches or tension at bay - and they work wonders for anxiety. Ross J Barr’s Calm Patches are made from a special blend of herbs to induce calm, they smell amazing too.

I wear them all day, either on my temples or the pressure points behind my ears and they’re like magic. Also, if you’re frequent flyer like me, they’re perfect for flights in keeping any nerves to a minimum or you just need a little help relaxing. I go nowhere without them.

Along with the Calm Patches, he also has ones to help with healing muscles and sleep, as well as a full range of supplements.

  • The Fall

We are finally in Autumn here in London and I, for one, could not be more excited. I love this time of year, I'd almost go so far to call it my favorite... the chill in the air, the smell of bonfires burning, leaves crunching and plenty of sticks for Jupiter to collect!

  • Neverland Wine

Nine months of the year I'm a red wine girl, and I discovered one of my favourite bottles last year. Neverland Cabernet Sauvignon is made in a small vineyard in Santa Barbara, and it's so drinkable and delicious I buy it by the case.

  • beach read books

A new indie bookstore is coming soon and the fact that it will be stocking all romance books makes it all the better! The shop opens November 4th in Wilmington, North Carolina, so if you’re a reader friend in the States be sure to check them out!

  • Song of the Summer

    Makeba by Jain.

You can’t miss this on TikTok right now. And I’m hearing it everywhere in my ‘real world life’

One thing I love about it, is that it was made in 2015 and is only becoming a big hit now. Sometimes things take time.

  • Grace and Frankie

If you know me, you’ll know I don’t often have muses for my characters, I don’t really visualize or imagine them because I prefer for my reader to create their own ideas. But, I adore Jane Fonda as Grace and there’s a character in my new book, Huck, who fits perfectly into this mold.

Please picture her when you’re reading 😊

  • Cocktails

No other drink screams summer than an Aperol Spritz. Traditionally (because it’s Italian) it’s made with Prosecco, but prosecco and I are not friends, so I substitute with champagne. If you want to make at home, here’s the recipe.

    3oz Prosecco (or Champagne)

    2oz Aperol

    1oz Club Soda

Serve over ice in a large wine glass with a slice of orange on the side.

  • Summer Manis

During the winter, my nails live in black, navy, dark grey and did I say black? But come summer it’s hard to get me out of the neons. My absolute fave brand for colors is The Gel Bottle – a vegan and cruelty free gel polish.

You can buy them online, and the website lists the salons they’re stocked in.

Pair with your favorite book and a glass of wine. Color is Fairy Pink.

  • Irving Farm

Coffee is part of my writing ritual and I’m still yet to find a better one that Irving Farm. I get bags of it shipped over to me every few months – my faves are House 71, Highline and Hudson. I first discovered them when I lived in New York (many moons ago) and will always visit a store when I’m in the city. They do great subscriptions and I think I’ve gifted all of my US friends with a box set: https://irvingfarm.com/

  • Springtime

It’s finally spring in London, in my opinion it’s the best season here. The blossoms are out in all the parks, and lining the roads – and it’s so pretty, but the best thing is that it’s not long until summer.

  • Lyla June Co.

It’s no secret one of my favorite bookish shops is Lyla June. She makes the BEST stickers (so much so that I have them on here) and the most beautiful merch – sweaters, mugs, tarot card – and there’s no trope left untouched.

  • ACOTAR

It’s taken me five months, but I’ve finally finished, and I LOVED it. Nesta gets such a bad rap, but I think I’m firmly in her camp. Her and Cassian are the enemies to lovers of dreams!

  • Buffy the Vampire Slayer

I’ve just binged watched this series, and I’m not sorry. Took me right back to my teenage years when I was obsessed with Buffy and Angel. There’s just something about fated mates.

  • Shrinking

OMG this show is like a hug straight from the television. And I never knew Harrison Ford was so funny. Honestly, it’s so worth the watch when you need something feel-good.

  • CHILDISH GAMBINO

It’s been a while since Donald Glover brought out a new album but I was loving listening to his back catalogue while writing The Third Baseman.

  • Janelle Monae

Her new single, Float, has been on repeat in our house and I can’t wait for her new album.
